Step back into 1920s London as the Transport Museum opens its doors after hours for an art deco-themed late.
London Transport Museum in Covent Garden will host the adults-only event on Friday, March 20, from 6.30pm to 9.30pm, celebrating its newest exhibition through an evening of live jazz, cocktails and hands-on workshops.
Guests will enjoy exclusive access to Art deco: the golden age of poster design, which showcases the enduring influence of art deco through original transport posters, photography, short films, and ceramics.
The event will offer a packed programme of activities.
Guests can enjoy curated cocktails, live jazz, and a 1920s and 1930s dance class from the professionals at SwingDanceUK.
Craft lovers can create their own statement accessories at a headdress-making workshop led by expert milliner Sahar Millinery.
The evening will also showcase live performances from young London jazz musicians including Filippo Ieraci and Giovanni Cresseri.
Guests can also explore the museum’s full collection of historic buses, trams, and trains, including a rare 1938 stock Tube carriage with a vintage art deco interior.
For those who want a taste of driving in the modern era, the museum’s interactive Elizabeth line simulator will be open to try.
Visitors can also browse early Tube maps, heritage posters, and other striking design objects from the wider collection.
To set the mood, The Thirst Trap pop-up bar will be serving mixologist-grade cocktails on tap.
