A man has been arrested after barricading himself inside a home following reports of domestic violence.
The emergency services were called to South End Close near Hampstead Heath at around 4am yesterday (April 20).
Police removed everyone inside the home except one man who barricaded himself inside.
Officers gained access and arrested the man on suspicion of various domestic violence related offences.
The man attended hospital for self-inflicted injuries which are not life-threatening or changing. There were no other injuries reported.
Fleet Road was closed by police throughout the morning following the incident.
A Met Police spokesperson emphasised that this was an isolated incident and “not related to the recent series of arsons in north west London”.
They said: “A man remains in police custody after he was arrested on suspicion of various domestic violence related offences.
“The arrest was conducted once officers gained access to a property shortly after the man barricaded himself inside.
“This was an isolated and contained incident not related to the recent series of arsons in north west London. No injuries were reported.”
