A heavy emergency service presence has been seen outside a London Underground station.

Emergency vehicles have been seen parked outside Leyton Underground station following an incident which is causing major travel disruption on the Central line throughout east London.

Transport for London (TfL) initially reported a casualty on the track and later confirmed severe delays are due to an earlier trespasser on the track at Leyton.

Passengers are being advised to check travel updates and allow extra time for their journeys.

TfL is accepting tickets on London Buses, the Liberty line, the Elizabeth line, Chiltern Railways, Great Western Railway and Greater Anglia services via any reasonable route.

Photos from the scene show multiple emergency vehicles, including Metropolitan Police vans, London Ambulance Service vehicles with blue lights appearing to be activated on at least one vehicle and a London Fire Brigade engine.

Traffic appears to be restricted in the area, but no visible cordon is in place.

We have contacted the emergency services for a comment.
