A man who carried out a frenzied double stabbing at a tube station has had his prison sentence increased.
Nicholas Orlando Green from Kennington Park Road, carried out the attacks at Kennington Underground station on the evening of March 27, 2024.
The 36-year-old stepped onto the platform at around 10.30pm and moments later began attacking a 44-year-old man at random.
The victim was stabbed repeatedly for around 20 seconds, with the attack continuing as he fell to the floor.
A 42-year-old man was also attacked when he tried to intervene.
Green left the station, but not before assaulting a 31-year-old woman by a lift.
Both stab victims were rushed to hospital.
The 44-year-old suffered multiple stab wounds to his chest and a fractured arm, and the 42-year-old in total suffered 13 stab injuries.
Green was found guilty of two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of a bladed article, and one count of common assault in September 2025.
On December 4 was sentenced to 11 years' imprisonment with five years on licence.
The outcome was referred to Court of Appeal under the Unduly Lenient Sentence Scheme.
After review, Green's sentence was increased today (July 15) to 18 years' imprisonment, with a further five years on licence.
The Solicitor General Ellie Reeves KC MP said: "This was a shocking and horrific attack. Green targeted three people with extreme merciless violence. The bravery shown by the victim who stepped in to help was remarkable, and my thoughts are with all those affected.
“I welcome the Court of Appeal's decision to increase Green's sentence and remain committed to ensuring those who carry out serious knife attacks face the full force of the law."
