A man who was arrested on suspicion of killing a singer-songwriter who worked with artists such as Chipmunk, Usher, and Dua Lipa will face no further action.
Talay Riley, also as Mark Olayinka Orabiyi, was stabbed near Pankhurst Avenue and Rayleigh Road in Silvertown on June 5.
Police were called at around 9 am and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 27-year-old was arrested the same day on suspicion of murder.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "Following extensive enquiries, officers passed a file to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) on Thursday, June 18.
"The CPS has concluded that there is no reasonable prospect of conviction and directed that no further action should be taken against a 27-year-old man who has been on police bail."
Detectives believe that Mark was involved in an altercation with another man prior to his death.
That man, 26, suffered stab wounds and was taken to hospital.
He has since been discharged.
The force has said that police are not seeking anyone else in connection with Mark’s death and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
Mark signed his first major publishing deal with Global Publishing at the age of 18, and then went on to write rapper Chip’s number-one UK single Oopsie Daisy.
Among the several tributes shared online was one from Chip where he said on an Instagram post: "You ain’t deserve to go out like that fam, fly high bro.
"Your pen will live forever. What a day man. What a life. RIP Talay Riley."
The rapper born from Tottenham continued, saying: "I’ll cherish the memories forever fam, prayers and thoughts go out to your family."
Mark’s brother, songwriter Scribz Riley, said: "My heart is shattered!
"This doesn’t feel real. It feels like a bad dream.
"Just before he went to sleep we spoke about the future, staying positive and about everything we still had left to do.
"I never imagined that would be our last conversation. Yinka wasn’t just my brother.
"He was my mother’s son, a friend to many, a mentor, an inspiration, and a light in so many people’s lives."
