Police have shared an update after a man was stabbed near a parade of shops.

Preston Road was cordoned near the junction of Elmstead Avenue just before 8pm on Thursday (July 30).

Initial reports revealed a person was taken to hospital.

The Metropolitan Police has since confirmed that the victim, a 40-year-old man, was not in a life-threatening or life-changing condition.

No arrests have been made at this stage.

A spokesman for the force said: "At around 8pm on Thursday, 30 July, police were called to reports of a stabbing on Preston Road, Wembley.

"Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance.

"A 40-year-old man was assessed at the scene by paramedics and taken to hospital.

"His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

"No arrests have been made at this stage and the investigation continues."
