A festival was closed after a "major incident" left several people injured.
Ghana Party in the Park, held at Copthall Playing Fields in Barnet, was cancelled mid-event yesterday (August 1) following an overcrowding issue at the entrance.
Emergency services were called to the scene to help manage the crowds, initially pausing the festival as organisers warned attendees of the "major incident".
Both the Metropolitan Police and organisers of the event urged people to avoid the area to allow for the situation to be managed safely.
It has been confirmed that a number of people suffered injuries as a result, though further details relating to the ages and number of victims have not been shared.
The Metropolitan Police has confirmed however that their injuries are non-life threatening.
Ghana Party in the Park was ultimately closed, which the hosts say was a decision made "solely on the ground of health and safety".
In a statement shared on their Instagram page, they wrote: "Following discussions with the emergency services and our health and safety team, it was agreed that closing the festival was the safest option in order to protect all attendees.
"We would like to clarify that there were no incidents of stabbing and deaths as being speculated.

The Metropolitan Police has confirmed that speculation about stabbings is inaccurate.
