Stabbing Askew Road- Neighbour recounts police response to incident

The incident occurred on Askew Road, Shepherd's Bush, shortly before 9am today (August 18).

A nearby resident spoke to this masthead, and said she woke to see the significant police presence on her street following the reported attack.

Emergency services, including police and paramedics, quickly established a cordon, closing off sections of the road at Hadyn Park Road, Lawrence Mews, and Davisville Road.

A forensic tent was erected at the scene, and an air ambulance was also reported to have arrived at Wendell Park.

The resident recounted the heavy emergency services presence, with up to a dozen police vehicles seen swarming her street.

Photos from the scene showed officers standing guard behind the cordon and forensic teams working at the site.

Staff who work along the street, which is lined with cafes and other small businesses, also reported the heavy police presence on an otherwise typical weekday morning.

Neighbours reported that the area is not used to this type of police attention.

The Metropolitan Police has not yet released an official statement regarding the incident.

Askew Road remains closed, and further updates are expected as more details become available.
