A large-scale emergency response was launched in Barking after a man fell to his death from a balcony.
The London Ambulance Service (LAS) was called to Wakering Road and Gurdwara Way at 3.10pm yesterday (September 7) after reports of a fall.
Paramedics in fast response cars and an incident response officer were sent to the scene.
The first paramedic arrived about five minutes later, the service said.
An LAS spokesperson said: “We were called at 3.10pm yesterday (7 September) to reports of a person who had fallen from height in Wakering Road, Barking.”
“We sent paramedics in fast response cars and an incident response officer to the scene.
"The first paramedic arrived in around five minutes.
“Sadly a man died at the scene.”
Police said officers were called to Gurdwara Way after concerns were raised for a man on a balcony.
He fell before officers arrived and suffered serious injuries.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the death was unexpected but not believed to be suspicious.
Enquiries are continuing to identify the man’s next of kin.
Gurdwara Way was closed in both directions between Fanshawe Avenue and North Street.
The street has since reopened.
