Police are investigating reports of a rape in Goodmayes Park.
The woman, whose age has not been described at this time, was allegedly targeted between August 15 and August 16.
The Metropolitan Police has said that following the incident, a man walking a dog assisted her.
He reportedly helped by pointing her in the way of the park exit and offering her clothes.
According to the force, it is believed he was walking a Staffordshire Terrier.
The Metropolitan Police said: “Officers believe he may have key information that could prove vital to the investigation.
“If this is you, or anyone you know, please get in touch as a matter of urgency via 101 quoting 3379/19AUG.”
